The story
Inside Choti Maa
Choti Maa was a Hindi family drama produced by Radikaa Sarathkumar's Radaan Mediaworks that aired on Zee TV from 2001 to 2002. It was the Hindi adaptation of Radaan's landmark Tamil serial Chithi, carrying over the same premise of a self-sacrificing woman who places her faith in human strength rather than in God. Vaishnavi Mahant played the title role of Sharda, the Choti Maa. The show became an early example of Radaan extending its South Indian serial formula into the Hindi market.
